La Vista Recovery Center

Hi! My name is Diane R….I came from a home where there was absolutely no drinking; there was church every Sunday and I was taught to treat others with respect; however, my parents did not respect each other and divorced with a great deal of pain for everyone involved. I married and divorced several times and began drinking in my early 30’s. For 26 years I worked for a prominent Fortune 500 company but depression ruled my every waking moment and I sank deeper and deeper into my alcoholism and I ended up truly ALONE WITH MY DISEASE. I ended up in the hospital where a wonderful Doctor kept encouraging me to seek help and arranged for me to be admitted to La Vista’s 90-day recovery program.

At La Vista I found the guidance I needed. La Vista introduced me to a path that would lead me out the darkness towards a new way of life with sobriety and personal growth. I was taught the 12-Step Program that led me back to my Higher Power, the God of my childhood.

Later in my sobriety, I was very blessed to have been offered a position working with La Vista’s Senior Services Program where I have had the opportunity to work with seniors in our community and as the liaison for Our Mother House which houses our mature residents. I now work in the Administration Office at La Vista and am enjoying learning the business side of the recovery process.

Quite simply, La Vista and their caring and experienced staff saved my life and showed me how to continue in a life of sobriety and personal growth. They taught me that getting sober is just the beginning.
